Will the 29-year-old Belgian striker return to Chelsea at the end of the loan? Seems unlikely. According to the words of both parties, the separation is an indication of finality.

 In Lukaku's eyes, leaving Inter for Chelsea was a mistake. On the other hand, Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel also said that the possibility of Lukaku returning to Chelsea is not very high.

Lukaku is happy at Inter

At the beginning of his career, he went to Chelsea and could not do anything, then knowing that he would not get a chance in the crowd of Drogba-Torres, he went to England's West Brom and went to Everton. 

There he went to Manchester United scoring goals, but Lukaku was not very successful in his first test at a big club. Moved to Inter in 2019-20 after scoring 16 and 12 league goals in two seasons at United.

That's where Lukaku found himself again. Under Antonio Conte, Inter scored 24 goals in the 2020-21 season to win the Italian league, having scored 23 goals in the previous season as well. The result? Chelsea's eyes fell on him. 

Go there in big numbers. But unable to adapt to coach Thomas Tuchel's strategy, as well as disputes with the club, Lukaku's Chelsea chapter did not extend beyond one season, scoring just 8 goals in 26 league games.
